filthy experience

Yay!! we were all so excited, we were gonna watch Sivaji. For the first and probably last time we decided to potray ourselves as fanatical worshippers of the icon..not in the literal sense but we realized that this was the priceless moment in which we could exhibit our exuberance..We emptied the paper shredder to throw the rubbish at the first mention of thalaivars name..my frds mom who had accompanied us was screaming, no1 wud believe u guys study@MIT..but we cared a damn...we wanted to create the perfect Rajni movie atmosphere at a place away from home...we were so ready and prepared to celebrate..but amongst all this came out thalaivar dancing like a frog in his intro song, clad in ramarajan level clothes, in a fight sequence worth forgetting dampening all our spirits and enthusiasm at the end of the first hour...specifically the use of the word "pazhagify" nauseated me to no end..i knew i dint belong in there.. I began to wonder...

a rational person would find it extremely hard to accept an illogical shoddy movie such as this that take general public for a ride..with disgusting scenes like using fair n lovely and other crap to change skin color taking up more than 20min of the movie 1 wonders if the movie offered nethg at all...there is a thin line between disgust and clumsy humor and I can definitely say that the line was not even in sight..i dunno whom to blame..the public who have begun to accept such movies or the production who have the audacity to make such movies with rajnikanth knowing fully well that it would be a hit irrespective of how filthy its been shot...overall a repulsive experience...i am not making an attempt to ostracize or lampoon the public but pity their high levels of tolerance...

March 18 Tragedy

I am extremely sad and deeply offended by the events that have unfolded in Pakistan cricket. If everyone was smarting Pakistans ousting from the WC yesterday, the sudden death of Woolmer has irrevocably pained the cricketing fraternity. He was a dedicated coach and the most tech savvy amongst all coaches. His sincerity and dedication to Pakistani cricket was doubted and BOB reciprocated with his own life. I hope his life will atleast put to rest the growing unrest in Pakistan following the teams dismal performance. I hope people will someday look at cricket as a game that should be enjoyed as opposed to a religion and make it difficult for others. I also wish that fans of Indian cricketers refrain from burning effigies and holding demonstrations in front of players houses. It definitely puts them in poor light amongst the cricketing fraternity. For someone who understands the game and loves its nuances I think cricket must be played and watched for sheer enjoyment and excitement that it brings. And if it is going to murder people and rob us of people like BOB I think it suffices to play bilateral series in which losses are taken more sportingly than somethg as big as the WC. I am extremely sorry for BOB and cricket today.
